A change in Weather

January 21, 2007

Tomorrow is our last day in Bergen. It’s been interesting. A transition. A rollercoaster. Stuff has come up. Things have happened. There has been treacle. And drain. And tiredness. And laughter. Snowflakes. And pink fluffy clouds. Maybe it’s been hibernation.

Muffin’s got boots. And antibacterial high-tech performance bipedal supersocks. Fruitcake’s got wholemeal rolls.

And now, Prague calls. Dumplings. And rich stews in a bohemian atmosphere of decadence. Alfonse Mucha. Permeated by, on the fringes of awareness, the mystery of the room with no door, and the flat grey stones like lumps of fat.

We went to The Street. We saw this:

Baneveien

We also went to the Aquarium and had an interesting conversation with this fish:

Mr. Fish

Muffin says bye bye Bergen, Fruitcake isn’t quite so sure.

In HollenderGaten

January 16, 2007

We are in Bergen. It’s only raining a little bit. We have had fish. Yum yum.

We’ve also had lots of electrical things. Circuit breakers have blown. Lightning has flashed. Muffin had been electrocuted by a rogue toaster.

We have a great view over Bergen. Someone has tipped a bucket of houses over the hills, and the buildings seem to be flowing down the valleys, pooling in the city and possibly dropping off into the sea.

Today we may go to The Street.

The City Of The Golem

January 8, 2007

The tickets are booked:

  • Bergen 13th jan – 23rd jan
  • Prague 23rd jan – 30th jan
  • England 30th jan – ?

What is the significance of the 29.10.44 Bergen fire? Is there a link between this date and the date on the Don Giovanni statue? And what about the 1582 candle-hurling priest? Will we discover the secret of the Golem?

Time and pumpkin soup will tell.
